CUTTING EDGE
An Exhibition of Collages by
TIM ROBINSON

at 'The First' Gallery

TIM ROBINSON was trained in Fine Art at Hornsey in the 1960s. He was in Advertising from 1967 to 1973, culminating in a spell as Art Director for Ogilvy-Mather's Australian branch. Subsequently he trained in Fine Art Conservation, which practice he still carries on from his studio in Romsey. His interest in making (as well as mending!) art has never deserted him, hence this second one-man show here; his first was in 2004. Later that year, a work of his was acquired for the House of Lords Collection. He has shown quite widely since, including a one-man in Southampton City Art Gallery, Winchester, and in mixed shows in East Anglia, to where he travels regularly. Influences include many 20th Century Brits, especially William Scott; intriguingly, though, no collagists. His own 1960s-derived, spare, functional aesthetic belies the colour and energy of these works. Prices range from £84 - £465.
